Dec. 31th
Matt Spataro,
Bergen Catholic
The junior won his 2nd BCCA title at 140 lbs.  His loss this year came by disqualification at the Beast of the East and is undefeated in New Jersey.

Jan. 7th
Dan Butcher,
Westwood
Dan became one of three wrestlers to defeat a BCCA champ this week when he defeated Glen Cannici of Queen of Peace in the Newark Academy finals.  Since Cannici was a state 5th last year, he gets the nod.  His win came after three consecutive losses in the last two years to Cannici, including two county finals and one for 5-6 in the state.

Jan. 14th
Mark Peck
HHWR
Mark Peck got his 100th win in a crucial bout vs. North Bergen.  The senior bumped up 40 lbs to give his team a strategic win that enabled HHWR to edge the Bruins.

Jan. 21st
Devin Skrable

The Cavo bumped up a weight and pinned at 152 over District 2nd Chris DePaola.  He also added a win against Bergenfield in another nice win for EPR.

Jan. 28th
Paul Viszoukis
OT
Paul Viszoukis won the biggest bout of the night for OT as they held off Mahwah in the big NBIL matchup.  His overtime win over Albrect was one of the big keys to the win which may lift them to a league title.

Feb. 4th
Tyler Blake
HHWR
The senior HWT has saved his best for last.  He beat county placer Chibane from Paramus in a pivotal match during their important dual meet, and also defeated CP's county champ at 275, Jonathan Hernandez.

Feb. 11th
Tony Nadera
Paramus
Going from being a regional finalist to the odd man out in the tough Paramus lower weights hasn't stopped this guy from being there for the Spartans.  On Monday night, they inserted him into the lineup against Wayne Valley, and his perseverance and commitment to his team paid off.  What a great story...

Jan. 7th
Bergen Catholic
Crusaders
BC upset the county champion Don Bosco Prep team in their league match in what is the biggest win of the year so far.  A number of wrestlers reversed roles by defeating wrestlers they lost to in the BCCA's just a week ago.  Most notable was Anthony Pierro beating Brian Dack at 152.

Jan. 14th
River Dell
Golden Hawks
There were a number of teams that had a big week, but RD had the biggest win of the week because it was the biggest upset.  When they edged Queen of Peace in their BCSL match on Saturday they put themselves in position to win the
BCSL American title.

Jan. 21st
Emerson/Park Ridge
Cavos
Emerson topped rival Westwood and top team Bergenfield, both in convincing fashion.
Jan. 28th
Hasbrouck Heights/
Wood Ridge Aviators
The Aviators beat Creskill, EPR, and St. Peter's all in one week.

Feb. 4th
Don Bosco
Ironmen
Don Boco dropped a match to state power P'Burg, but handily defeated SJR and dealt Lenape Valley Regional a loss.  LVR has bounced in and out of the top 20 this year.
Feb. 4th
Northern Highlands
Highlanders
One of the best teams in Bergen County didn't make the sectionals this year.  Their power ranking would have put them in the top 3 seeds in not only group 1 and 2, but in group 4 as well.  Their wins over Mahwah and Cresskill were impressive, and they hope to get in the mix at the top of District 5.
